As of this Saturday (26th April 2014) our shop on the edge of the covered market in Darlington will be closed, but it’s business as usual for our other shop on Duke Street!

We’ve had a review of the business as a whole, and although the market shop is covering its costs, people are changing the way they’re buying. This new website has had a fantastic response, and over Mother’s Day we took three times more web orders than we did from the market shop. We can only predict that that trend will become more and more prominent, so we are moving focus that was previously on the second shop over to the website.

Take a walk on the wild side

Claire and David’s wedding at Rockliffe Hall Hotel was created with a stunning mix of colours and textures, resulting in a natural and wild feel. Their special day took place on a slightly drizzly day in September last year, but this did not dampen spirits – if anything the lilac shades of the flowers complimented and enhanced the mood of the weather.

Claire opted for loose and natural handtied posies for herself and her bridesmaids, using pretty and dainty blooms – lilac freesia, white astrantia, ivory ‘Akito’ roses, ivory spray roses, blue thistle and eucalyptus – creating a colour scheme of sage and mint greens, pure ivory and delicate lilacs with a hint of dark blue. For buttonholes, as the groom’s party were dressed in lilac cravats, we kept to ivory ‘Akito’ roses with ivy, ruscus and complementing alchemilla.
