Lindsey and Andrew’s wedding was a classically vintage do, with a colour palette of muted and blush pinks and ivory. Lindsey went for all flowers and no greenery in her bouquets resulting in neat, round handtieds that emulated vintage! Looking at the pictures by John from Grange Photography, the bouquets went perfectly with the lacy a-line style of the bridesmaid’s dresses.
The bouquets were created using only two flowers – peonies and lisianthus – giving Lindsey the look she wanted. As a general rule for bouquets the less varieties of blooms incorporated, the more round and classic they will look. The Sarah Bernhardt peonies in particular were an ideal vintage choice, as the darker colour blended through the outer guard petals creates a shabby-chic vintage that flowers such as roses are too perfect to achieve.
For the buttonholes, Lindsey and Andrew went with a cluster of lisianthus, astrantia and eucalyptus, bringing in all the shades of muted colour from the bouquets. I love the unique, personal touch of the bottle tops!
Continuing the vintage vibe, the centrepieces were birdcages filled with peonies, hydrangea, lisianthus, astrantia and eucalyptus. The reception took place at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield.
